Opportunities to Support One Another's Projects

Here are a few upcoming fundraisers that might peak your interest. If you were going to be shopping or dining out anyway, please consider bolstering these projects:

On November 4, the Gnadenhutten Moravian Church (John Heckewelder Memorial) will host a Turkey Dinner from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m.  $10. Dine in or carry out. Reserve your meals by calling the church office at 740-254-4374.

Beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day, you may also browse the Christmas Bazaar featuring crafts, baked goods, homemade candies and Moravian merchandise.

The church is located at 133 S. Walnut Street, just beyond the 4-way stop in the center of Gnadenhutten.

Now through November 10, the Fry's Valley Moravian Church is conducting an online fundraiser to support the congregation's ongoing ministries. If you might be thinking about giving customized, personalized gifts for upcoming occasions (Christmas? Birthdays? Weddings?), perhaps you'd find something fitting at

Fall Hayride, Pumpkin Carving, and Bonfire for All

It will be a classic autumn evening in the country when friends and families gather for a terrific time around the campfire. There will be pumpkins for carving, hot dogs for roasting, and songs for singing. Climb aboard a hay wagon and tour the beautiful farmland. The tree-topped hillsides should be bursting with fall colors.

Resident artist Sheila Davis ready to teach, encourage and coach you in the soul-restoring act of making art. Whether you're new to painting or an accomplished artisan, Sheila will help you to feel welcomed and comfortable in these Spiritual Splatter sessions. All materials are supplied. Saturday Car Show & Chicken BBQ

Take a CRUISE IN THE COUNTRY 

and come out for the annual CAR SHOW & CHICKEN BBQ 

at Fry's Valley Moravian Church tomorrow, Saturday, August 19. 

We're located at 594 Fry's Valley Road SW, just a few miles off OH-416 between Gnadenhutten and Tuscarawas. 

We have lots of door prizes, silent auction items, a beautiful setting, delicious food, and, of course, CARS! Shiny and slick, nostalgic and memorable, restored and in-process CARS!

Come to show off your own, or just to appreciate what's on display. 

Either way, all of the fun will be backed by an oldies soundtrack spun by our event DJ.

Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. Chicken Dinners with Homemade Sides & Desserts will be available between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. (Don't be late! Our legendary chicken often sells out!)

Guys' Night Paint Session

For about a year now, Sheila Davis has been offering painting classes as a spiritual discipline. These "Spiritual Splatter" sessions have been extremely popular...but they've had a tendency to be populated by women. Not wanting men to miss out on all the creative benefits of artistry and fellowship, Sheila has designed a project especially for a Guys' Night Paint Session:

Cost for the session: $25. This includes all the materials needed to complete a 12" X 12" canvas, instruction, and refreshments.

Christmas Tree

"Let's end the month with a Christmas Tree for your holiday decorating or gift-giving. We'll do this on an      11 X 14 canvas with sponges and brushes...very easy to create. Cost for this session is $25...refreshments and Christmas music provided. All are welcome!"

All Creatures Great and Small

For anyone who loves fur babies, the upcoming session on Pet First Aid could be invaluable. 

Dr. Jonathan Angel, DVM, will alert you to household hazards that could put your pets at risk and help you know what to do in emergency situations. He'll teach you what should and shouldn't be kept in a pet first aid kit, how to treat basic illnesses and injuries at home, and how to know when it's time to call the vet.
