Ohio Moravians Excited to Host a Weekend Full of Activities

This weekend, hundreds of visiting Moravian youth and youth supporters from 12 Eastern District congregations will travel to Tuscarawas County for a Youth Ministries Weekend. An annual tradition for many of the participants, this is the first time Ohio Moravians will join in the fun! Your enthusiastic attendance is encouraged for several of the weekend's events.

Past Quiz Bowls have been colorful events!

Saturday, October 7

Quiz Bowl

12:45 p.m.
Buckeye Career Center Cafeteria

The competition will be as thick as the fellowship when 12 teams of young people vie for trophies and bragging rights in this annual contest! Our Tuscaraswas County Moravian Churches have assembled a team of enthusiastic young people. Come out to cheer on Charlotte Menapace, Chloe Martin, Jacob Cannon, Jase Green and dedicated alternates Gina Green and Molly Morris as they demonstrate their knowledge of scripture and Moravian Church practices.

They'll be challenged by young people from the following congregations: United (NY), Grace (Queens), Faith (Washington, D.C.), John Hus (Brooklyn), Egg Harbor (New Jersey), New Dawn (Toronto), Lititz (Pennyslvania), Vanderbilt (Staten Island), Tremont Terrace (The Bronx), First (NY) and Fellowship (Brooklyn).

Sunday, October 8
Worship as One

10:00 a.m.
Dover High School Auditorium
520 N. Walnut Street, Dover

ALL of our Tuscarawas County Moravian Churches will gather with ALL of our visiting Moravian brothers and sisters for a glorious hour of worship. Familiar hymns, heartfelt prayers and joyful praise will unite us as young people from across the Eastern District lead the service. Pastor John Wallace will delight us all with a children's message, and Pastor Chris Johnson will offer the morning sermon. Brother Randy Gibbs will accompany the service, and we'll have a short, sweet theatrical presentation from some of our T-County youth:  Hunter Armstrong, Jacob Cannon, Hannah Levengood, and Jayden Stearns.

(There will be NO worship offered in our individual church buildings on this day.)

Please enter the Dover High School through the front doors. Please park on the street or in the nearby parking lots of the Dover Moravian Church. Worshipers with limited mobility may be dropped off in front of the school where assistance (including a wheel chair) will be available.

Sunday, October 8
Talent Show

2:00 p.m.
Dover High School Auditorium
520 N. Walnut Street, Dover

Everyone is invited to the joyful conclusion of this Youth Ministries Weekend when young people from across the Eastern District demonstrate and celebrate their artistic talents. Through dance, music, and theatrics, young Moravians will provide a remarkable afternoon of entertainment. Look for performances by local youth as well as those who have traveled a great distance.
